Biomass Oil Analysis

This course presents a detailed analysis of the state of the US renewable energy sector as it relates to biomass oil. The training material is based on the United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) “Biomass Oil Analysis: Research Needs and Recommendations”. The Office of The Biomass Program (OBP) within EERE invests in technology research and development and strives to achieve the following outcomes:

1. Establish commercial biorefinery technology
2. Commercialize at least four biobased products

The biomass feedstocks evaluated in this course include lipids from animal fats, fish and poultry oils, plant oils, and recycled cooking greases.

Once you complete your course review, you need to take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of thirty-five (35) questions to earn 9 PDH credits.
