This course is the second part of a two part course on HVDC Technology. The main objective of this course is to thoroughly present the effects of harmonics in AC power systems, harmonic filter design, DC harmonic concepts and calculations, HVDC power and frequency control schemes.

This course is suitable for engineers with a desire to understand basic HVDC technology design and operation principles. It covers HVDC configurations, HVDC substation design arrangements and equipment, converter operation and control, effects of harmonics in power system, filter design and HVDC power and frequency control schemes.
