Recorded Webinar: Coastal Processes
Author: Michael Penzo
This On-Demand webinar provides an overview of coastal processes. It focuses on the dynamic coastal environment and convergent zones of continental and oceanic processes. More than 50 percent of the world’s population is concentrated in the coastal zones that are characterized by varied topography, climate, and vegetation.
The coastal states of the United States have a long shoreline that extends 93,000 miles, and approximately 75 percent of the population lives in this region. Potential coastal hazards are compounded because the largest cities, and the associated human activities, are located in coastal zones.
