PDH-Pro offers board-approved continuing education that helps Alabama engineers through every stage of licensure and renewal.

Alabama PE License Renewal Process

Alabama PE license renewal is required every two years, and staying on top of it is straightforward once you know the rules. Here’s what you need:

  • Complete 30 Professional Development Hours (PDH) per renewal cycle
  • At least 1 PDH doesn’t have to be in professional ethics (Alabama doesn’t mandate a specific ethics requirement, though it’s recommended)
  • All continuing education must relate to your engineering practice
  • Licenses renew on December 31st of odd-numbered years

PDH-Pro’s online continuing education courses make Alabama professional engineer license renewal convenient and affordable. Complete your hours on your schedule, download your certificate, and you’re done.

Alabama PE PDH Requirements

The Alabama PE PDH requirements are clear but flexible. BELS expects 30 PDH every two years, but gives engineers freedom in how they earn those hours:

  • 30 PDH per biennial renewal period
  • PDH can come from online courses, technical seminars, or workshops
  • Up to 15 PDH can carry over to your next cycle
  • Keep records for four years in case of audit: BELS conducts random checks

BELS doesn’t pre-approve courses or providers, so it’s up to you to ensure your courses meet their standards. PDH-Pro’s courses are designed to align with BELS criteria and provide instant certificates when you’re finished.

How to Complete Your Alabama PE Renewal

The Alabama PE renewal process is entirely online through the BELS portal. Here’s how it works:

  1. Complete your 30 PDH hours through PDH-Pro’s approved courses
  2. Download and save your certificate of completion
  3. Submit your renewal through the BELS online portal (no fee for online renewal)
