Continuing Education Requirements for AK PEs
The Alaska State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors regulates continuing education for engineers in Alaska. Currently engineers must complete a total of 24 Professional Development Hours biennially to renew a PE license in the state of Alaska. Engineers are allowed to carry over 12 development hours to the next term. All engineering licenses are renewed on December 31st in odd numbered years. Continuing education courses must maintain, improve, or expand relevant Professional Engineering skills in order to protect public safety and health within the state.

Course content approval | The course content must improve and expand engineering knowledge related to the licensee’s area of practice.
