Chemical Process Hazard Analysis
Promulgation of the PSM Rule has heightened the awareness of chemical safety management issues. The PSM Rule contains an integrated set of chemical process safety management elements designed to prevent chemical releases that can lead to catastrophic fires, explosions, or toxic exposures.
This course explains the minimum requirements for PrHAs outlined in the PSM Rule. It facilitates the performance of chemical process hazards analyses (PrHAs) as required under the PSM Rule. It is intended for use by both DOE facilities and processes covered by the PSM rule as well as engineers and other personnel managing chemical facilities. This course provides a basis for conducting process hazards analyses as part of their good management practices.
