Effects of Oil and Chemically Dispersed Oil in the Environment

This course was developed as a guide for oil spill response decision-makers and to provide an accurate summary of exposure and effects of oil and chemically dispersed oil in the marine environment. During both pre-spill planning and actual response, decision-makers are faced with many questions concerning exposure and effects. This course provides information to guide those decisions and to improve the results of response actions.

In this 5-hour online course, students will gain knowledge about chemical dispersants and their effect on oil spills.
