This course provides the student with a general understanding of a hot works program, provides the essential components of an effective program, and prepares the employee to manage an existing program at a facility. It reviews case studies of recent fires and worker fatalities caused by failure to use hot works permits and the proper precautions. The course provides all of the elements of a hot works program and the activities that are covered by permits. It outlines the OSHA standard and presents the employer’s and employee’s obligations. This Hot Works Permits Course is designed for engineers and other professionals who work in commercial and industrial facilities where hot works permits are used or required.
