It emphasizes hazard identification and safe work practices that apply to all facilities and work environments. The course reviews the causes of arc flashes, including conditions that create the hazard, and presents a detailed discussion of the risks and protective strategies. It includes a review of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and other workplace standards. This Introduction to Arc Flash Course is designed for engineers and other professionals who work in commercial and industrial facilities where electrical hazards may exist.
