This course provides an introduction to electrical circuit protection theory and practice. It is a practical guide intended to guide the student through the current state of the practice for circuit protection. The material provides an overview of electrical theory, methods of measuring current and voltage, and the importance of monitoring electrical circuits. Various circuit protection devices are discussed including the theory of operation, installation and maintenance requirements, and testing and repair methods.
