Live Webinar: Introduction to PLCs
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are the backbone of today’s Industrial Automation systems. PLCs control a wide array of applications from simple lighting functions to environmental systems to chemical processing plants. These systems perform many functions, providing a variety of analog and digital input and output interfaces; signal processing; data conversion; and various communication protocols. All of the PLC’s components and functions are centered around the controller, which is programmed for a specific task.
This live webinar course will take you from the very basic concepts, to put PLC code together, all the way up to briefly explore the steps to a successful project! It describes PLCs and their similarity to relay-based control systems, reviews ladder logic programming, and presents design examples for real-world systems. No previous PLC coding experience is needed to benefit from this course.
Once you complete the live webinar and review the course materials, you need to take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions to earn 3 PDH credits.
This live webinar course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Overview of PLCs and process control
- Understanding of Ladder Logic programming
- Review of PLC programming language and functions
- Examples of programming design
