Power Transformer Testing
Author: Velimir Lackovic
Transformers may be tested using either AC or DC voltage. AC voltage is preferable to DC voltage for transformer testing because it simulates the internal stress that the transformers face during operating conditions.
This course is suitable for engineers interested in learning about commonly used transformer testing procedures. It reviews details related to online condition monitoring and assessment of transformers, bushings, and lighting arresters. Upon successful completion engineers will understand different transformer testing procedures and specific practices that must be completed before the transformer is returned the service.
Once you complete your course review, you need to take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions to earn 3 PDH credits.
