This On-Demand webinar reviews the evolution of fluid level measuring equipment, the limitations of some measurement tools, how wellbore data is presented, current well condition, displaying the downhole areas of concern, and determining the bottom hole reservoir pressure – all without the high cost of moving a service rig onto the well. These techniques may be used to collect potentially critical well data for a small percentage of the costs associated with other methods.

It is often difficult to determine if an oil well is producing at its optimum capacity or if an operational problem has developed deep below ground. These questions can often be answered by “shooting a fluid level” on the well with specialized measurement equipment. This course introduces the basics of oil well fluid level data collection including an overview of analytical methods that can determine the downhole condition of a well and the reservoir supplying it with oil and gas. It describes the tools and evaluation methods that are used to evaluate a well’s artificial lift performance and the productive capacity of the oilfield around it.
