Soil Cation Exchange Capacity for Mercury
Author: Michael Kuznetz
This course presents the soil selectivity sequence and a cation exchange capacity (CEC) expression for mercury (II) which completes the author’s series of classes on mercury. The expression for soil mercury II can used in conjunction with the author’s Mercury Phase Transformation Algorithm (MPTA) for electric utility boilers and power plants. Similar expressions, derived for other metals, can be incorporated in groundwater fate and transport equations to define initial plume concentration.
