Complete continuing education packages built specifically for engineers registered in the State of Utah. Designed to fulfill the entire continuing education requirement.

This package was designed specifically for Utah electrical engineers looking to satisfy all of the Professional Development Hours (PDH) required by the Utah Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors Licensing Board. Currently, engineers must obtain 30 hours of continuing education in each two-year license period. Our PDH courses are relevant to the practice of engineering and include technical, management and ethics topics.

Our Utah Electrical Engineering package contains a course on engineering ethics and four technical courses that were selected for their ability to maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to your area of practice.

Package Syllabus

ET-02-001 Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct – 2 PDH
This course presents the philosophical models that guide ethical behavior and examines the standards of ethical conduct in a variety of situations. Decisions from the NSPE Board of Review are reviewed to provide insights into proper ethical behavior.

EE-02-306 AC Theory, Circuits, Generators & Motors – 6 PDH
This course details the general theory and equations for AC Circuit analysis, AC generators and AC motors. Numerous images and graphs are used to present the fundamental theories of Alternating Current.

EE-02-560 Electrical Design of Pumping Stations – 7 PDH
This course is designed to provide pertinent information required to design and specify the electrical systems for flood-control pumping stations.

EE-02-301 Basic Electrical and DC Theory – 10 PDH
This course also introduces the basic electricity and electrical circuit concepts associated with direct current. Topics include calculation of current, voltage, resistance and power in series, parallel and combination circuits with direct current (DC) power sources.

EE-02-110 Introduction To Circuit Protection – 5 PDH
This course provides an introduction to electrical circuit protection theory and practice. It is a practical guide intended to guide the student through the current state of the practice for circuit protection.
