This package was designed specifically for Wisconsin mechanical engineers looking to satisfy the online portion of 17 Professional Development Hours (PDH) required by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. Currently, engineers must obtain 30 hours of continuing education per biennium, and up to 17 PDH may be obtained online (distance education courses via the internet) each renewal period, and a minimum of 2 PDH must be in the areas of professional conduct and ethics. This package satisfies this requirement.

Please note: Registrants must also obtain an additional 13 PDHs via courses where the registrant interacts and can communicate directly with each other and ask questions of the instructor. This course satisfies the 2-hour professional conduct and ethics requirement. It includes the Wisconsin Chapter A-E 8: Ethics Professional Conduct and Wisconsin Chapter A-E 13 Continuing Education for Professional Engineers.

ME-02-303 Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Central Boiler Plants – 9 PDH
This course provides detailed information about Central Boiler Plants including methods used to construct and install them, operation procedures, and required maintenance.

ME-02-701 Energy Efficient and Sustainable Refrigeration Systems – 6 PDH
This course provides guidance to refrigeration system design teams about selecting energy-efficient refrigeration systems that use low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants. It is based on work done by USDOE’s Commercial Building Partnerships (CBP) which is a public/private, cost-shared initiative that demonstrated cost-effective, replicable ways to achieve dramatic energy savings in commercial buildings.
