Continuing Education Requirements for DE PEs

The Delaware Association of Professional Engineers (DAPE) regulates the practice of engineering and establishes continuing education standards. Engineers in Delaware must earn 24 professional development hour credits every 2-year period (biennally). At least 3 but less than 6 PDH must be in the category of ethics. Delaware does not pre-approve course providers or courses. License renewal is June 30th of even numbered years for all engineers.

Course content approval
  1. A minimum of 3 PDH up to a maximum of 6 PDH must be related to professional ethics
  2. A maximum of 9 PDH can be related to project management or business skills
  3. The remaining hours must be technical courses related to the licensee’s practice
  4. For dual licensed engineers/surveyors, up to 12 PDH may be related to the technical practice of land surveying
