This 6-hour live presentation course introduces participants to the foundational elements of low voltage cable accessories and medium voltage (MV) terminations. Starting with an in-depth overview of TE Connectivity’s low voltage product portfolio, the course explores stress control in MV cables and the advantages of shear-bolt and crimp connectors. Learners will gain practical knowledge of termination systems through detailed demonstrations of both heat shrink and cold shrink technologies. Emphasis is placed on installation best practices, reliability, and the performance characteristics of modern cable accessories in demanding environments.

Learning Objectives

This in-person course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:

  • Understand the function, design, and installation of low voltage cable accessories including heat shrink and cold-applied solutions.

  • Identify the critical components of MV cable construction and explain the role of electrical stress control.

  • Compare and contrast shear-bolt and crimp connector technologies in terms of application and performance.

  • Recognize the key performance standards and testing criteria for LV and MV cable accessories.

  • Demonstrate correct installation procedures for MV terminations using heat shrink and cold shrink methods.
