Mississippi Professional Engineer Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing Education Requirements for MS PEs

Mississippi professional engineers are required to complete 15 professional development hours, also known as Continuing Professional Competency, every year. All Mississippi engineering licenses are renewed on December 31 every year. Every two years, PEs must earn at least one CPC hour in the topic of ethics. As many as 15 professional development hours can be carried forward to the subsequent renewal period, but excess ethics credits cannot be carried forward.

Provider approval The Board does not pre-approve course providers
Course content approval Any qualifying course or activity with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee’s field of practice in engineering and/or surveying. At least 1 PDH in Ethics must be taken by engineers every 2 years.
Maximum PDH hours to carry over 15 PDH
Online courses No limit on online courses.
