Oklahoma Professional Engineer Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing Education Requirements for OK PEs

Oklahoma professional engineers are required to earn 15 professional development hours each year if they elect to renew their licenses annually or 30 PDH every 2 years if they renew it biennially.  Continuing professional competency activities must enhance the PE’s engineering business, ethical or technical knowledge or skills. All Oklahoma engineers renew their license on the end of the month the PE initially received their license.

Listed below are the Oklahoma professional engineer (PE) license renewal requirements.

Renewal period Biennially, the last day of the month of the initial license date.
Provider approval The Board does not pre-approve course providers
Course content approval Any program with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee’s field of practice. Subject matter which is technical in nature or addresses professional ethics, codes or other similar topics which facilitate the licensee’s professional development as a professional engineer and serves to safeguard life, health and property and promote the public welfare.
