Ethics for Electrical Engineers

Ethics for Electrical Engineers

The Engineering Code of Ethics requires professionals to hold the public health, safety and welfare paramount. Many engineering organizations, such as the IEEE, have drafted codes of ethics to which their members are required to commit. These codes have many similarities and are based on a few fundamental principles that provide guidance to professional engineers in the course of their work. However, many difficult or ambiguous situations arise in which the best ethical solution may be difficult to determine.

In this 2-hour online course, background on the philosophical models that guide ethical behavior is presented and the standards of ethical conduct are examined in a variety of situations. This course is intended primarily for electrical engineers seeking to learn ethical principles and how to apply them to their professional practice.

Once you complete your course review, take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions to earn 2 PDH credit.
