Tesla invented most of what now we call the electrical grid, wireless transmission, and many other things we enjoy. Tesla was born on July 10, 1856, in the Austrian Empire, now Croatia. After a checkered academic career in Europe, he moved to the United States where he initially worked with Thomas Edison. And later, as an independent inventor, he reached a peak of his tremendous career.
